The New Caledonians

Selina and Thierry. These are two of my favourite people. Ever.
He is French - Caledonian and she is an Aussie.
He is the yin to her raging yang.
He thrives on flitting from moment to moment, she thrives on being in the moment.
I love that Thierry can give it back to Selina - it's always fun to witness this in action, payback from childhood I guess =)
How beautiful are their children gonna be?
Little brown eyed french speaking bambinos. Yep...I'm waiting.

Mini shoot

Isabella was in a great mood before leaving for her school disco on Friday night so I took advantage and sweet talked her into posing for me. Hmmm, can't decide if I like the above black and white or colour best so I've ran with posting both. Would love your opinions on which you prefer???

It's amazing what expressions you can get once you throw some 'poo' jokes around!

Of course Maggie cops on to what is happening outside and joins in too.

Soul singing

This is how Gail sings. From her heart and soul. It's really quite unique actually and really lovely to let her silvery voice settle over you. Gail and I have been friends since I signed up to study astrology from her a few years ago. These were taken last year at the West End markets where she can be found busking away most Saturdays. It was early days with me getting to know my camera so am very grateful that she let me practise on her.

I have a soft spot for this one, it's something about the way her hands are poised.

A Monday arvo

Some SOOC (straight out of camera) fun from this afternoon, hanging out in the backyard waiting for dinner to cook. Note Isabella is now officially without her front teeth. Poor thing, she's lost three teeth within three weeks and has not had one of them to leave the tooth fairy. The first she hid away in a secret spot, so secret that she forgot where she stashed it! The second came out at school while drinking from the water bubbler and went bye bye down the drain. Then the front one (that has been loose forever) finally came out over the weekend while she was eating breakfast and swallowed it with her food!

Always

Always loving
Always missing
Always remembering
Always waiting for the next visit
We love you and miss you Auntie Selina (now, no tears ok Leen) xox

For you Selina

Maggie and her auntie Selina getting cosy. These two have an incredibly special connection (I think it's a past life thing). Taken while Selina was home from abroad last month. I caught them before they were heading off on a flower picking adventure down the street. I decided to tag along after them for a little while.

Happy St. Paddy's day

Bel all decked out in green to celebrate the day at school. She literally yelled at me "happy Saint Patrick's day" when these were snapped.
How I wish that wobbly front tooth would just fall out, it's been hanging on for weeks!

Tree play

Inevitably, the car statue lost it's appeal and they moved on to climbing trees.

And playing with sticks

And my personal fave from the day. All that hair tumbling foward and that sweet gaze just gets me straight in the heart.

Monumental moments

While we were enjoying a rest in the park after the markets, the girls were enjoying this marble statue.
Of course they were all over it.

Jumping ...

Lying...

... obviously one liked it a lot more than the other

Embrace

On Saturday we were out at our regular haunt, the Powerhouse Markets. I stopped by to see Jo, talented designer of these gorgeous Embrace creations and surprised her with a few quick snaps of her wares. I got to know Jo while she was making a set of bracelets for me (the pretty silver and turquoise ones shown here in dish) and each time I see her things there is always something that goes on my wish list. So if you're ever at the market, have a look and say hi to Jo (she's very friendly).

Kind of trippy

This is the face Maggie has been giving me lately when she sees the camera pointing at her. I think this is her take on how to 'smile' because she comes up real close to make sure I see her. I'm surprised at how these turned out because I was playing around taking shots without looking through the camera...kind of trippy hey.

Happy

I love this face

A Pirate Pool Party

A belated birthday party post. Seventeen kids, one pool, one failed round of handless donut eating plus lots of fun = one tired mum for a week afterwards. Two of my good friends went the way of the bird this year, gifting to Isabella the gorgeous birdie in the cage and an adorable handmade stationery set and bird gift tag (which was just so sweet that it's found a permanent home on Isabella's bedroom door).

My birthday bag

Now, I'm not one to fall in love with or to oooh and aahh over handbags (or shoes for that matter) but when I saw this one I oooh'd and I fell. I've been admiring it for months. You see, I've had my current bag for seven years (yes, the same bag for seven years ! ). And while it's done a fine job of housing to-do lists/ purse/ sweets wrappers and leaking pens it is definately showing it's age.
So when money was gifted to me on my birthday last week I knew exactly what I wanted to spend those dollars on!

Here it is, in all it's leathery goodness. Modelled by my sister Selina (yes, there was much eye rolling at having to do this).

Meet Robbie

Robbie is Monique's life long friend and partner for the semi. These were taken while we were waiting for the dress to return. Thanks Robbie, you're a real nice kid and a natural in front of the camera!

Big bed

The cot came down today and we moved Maggie into her own bed. We weren't sure what to expect but like most things we've thrown at her she's handled it beautifully. Like a duck to water. So far...there is a full night ahead of me yet so maybe I shouldn't speak too soon.

Pure joy

Pink Petti

A February Sunrise

I was up at 4.20am one morning, god knows why, probably up having a snack, when I looked out the window and saw this. Of course I had to grab the camera to snap this sunrise in all it's purple glory.

Cupcake thief

It was only after I uploaded this photo that I realised a chubby hand was caught in the act of knocking off a cupcake

Pretty light
